Back 2 School Fall Fundraiser · Now through November 11

Together, we make a difference

This is the Alcott PTSA's one big ask of the year. No catalogs, no wrapping paper, nothing to sell — just a direct gift that funds enrichment, clubs, teacher support, and family events for every student at Alcott. We suggest $150 per student, and if your employer matches, that becomes $300.

Any amount helps, and no family is expected to give more than they can. Louisa May Alcott PTSA 2.8.3 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your gift is tax deductible.

What we're asking for

Our suggestion this year is $150 per student. That is a suggestion, not a requirement — gifts of every size add up, and participation matters to us more than any single number.

Don't forget to ask for a match

Many employers in our area match employee donations to schools, and some match volunteer hours too. It usually takes a few minutes on your company's giving portal, and it is the single easiest way to double what your gift does for Alcott students.

$150 your gift + $150 your employer = $300

Search for Louisa May Alcott PTSA 2.8.3 in your employer's portal. If you cannot find us, email us and we will send you what your company needs.

What your gift pays for

Every dollar raised this fall stays at Alcott and goes back to students through the programs below.

Assemblies and field trips

Schoolwide assemblies, field trips, and the experiences students remember years later.

Members decide how it gets spent

Donating funds the work. Membership is how you get a say in it.

The budget that sets every amount above is voted on by PTSA members at our fall general meeting. Members propose changes, ask questions, and raise a hand on the final vote. If there is something you want funded differently at Alcott, that meeting is where it happens — and a membership is what gets you a vote in the room.

Membership is separate from a donation, and it is inexpensive. It also counts toward how many families the PTSA can say it speaks for when we advocate at the district and in Olympia.

Fall General Meeting

Date to be confirmed — late September or early October. Watch the newsletter and the school calendar.

On the agenda: the 2026–27 budget vote. Every member present can vote on it.

Every class that reaches 100% earns an ice cream party

Each class with 100 % participation in the Back-to-School Fundraiser will win a PTSA-sponsored ice cream party.

  • This is not a drawing and not a contest between classes. There is no limit on how many classes can win.

  • Participation means every family in the class has taken part. The size of the gift does not change whether a class qualifies.

  • Classes that reach 100% will be celebrated in the newsletter as they get there, not only at the end.
