Student Enrichment
We strive to unlock new passions and support the growth of the whole child. From after-school clubs to in-class experiences, the Alcott PTSA coordinates extra learning, creative, and athletic opportunities throughout the school year.
Fall Session 2026
After-School Programs
We are actively working to plan a robust, engaging line-up of after-school programs for the upcoming Fall 2026 session. To help your family plan ahead, here is what you can expect:
Weekly Schedule:
Programs are tentatively scheduled to run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Timing:
Classes will begin immediately after the school bell rings and last for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
Dismissal & Pick-Up:
Parents are responsible for picking up their children promptly when the class ends—approximately 5:00 PM or 5:30 PM depending on the specific program.
Specific vendor names, registration fees, and exact class schedules are currently being finalized. More details will be shared soon!
Chaperones Required
Every single after-school enrichment class requires a dedicated parent volunteer chaperone to attend EACH session.
Without parent chaperones in the classroom, these programs cannot legally or safely operate. Please consider budgeting a little time to help host a course this session!

Fall Session
National PTA Reflections
An incredible opportunity for Orcas to express themselves through original dance, film, literature, music, photography, and visual arts.
Winter Session
The Alcott Spelling Bee
Students challenge their vocabulary and spelling skills in a supportive, exciting environment. Winners can advance to regional tiers.
Spring Session
Math Kangaroo
An international mathematical competition focusing on logical combinations and problem-solving puzzles. Hosted at Alcott Elementary.

Enrichment During School Hours
The PTSA doesn't just stick around after the final bell. We collaborate closely with school staff to fund and design specialized programs that enrich daytime learning inside the classrooms.
On the Horizon for 2026-2027 (TBD)
We are actively brainstorming and navigating administrative approvals for unique experiences accessible to all students during the typical school day, including:
Creart Studioz Workshops — Interactive crafting and design.
Clay Art Explorations — High-quality, hands-on sculptural medium sessions.
Inspiring Author Visits — Introducing students face-to-face with professional storytellers.
Daily Care Option
YMCA Before & After Care
Need dedicated, daily childcare outside standard school hours? The YMCA provides its independent Before and After-School Enrichment (BASE) program directly at Alcott Elementary.
Please note that this is an after-care solution only—separate from individual PTSA short-term enrichments. It provides active play, arts, STEM, and safe, hands-on learning from September through June.
