Meeting summaries and documents

Short summaries of what we discussed and decided, and the documents that guide how our PTSA works.

Full minutes

Minutes are the PTSA's official legal record, so we share them with members rather than posting them online. Members receive the minutes of recent general and board meetings by email 5 to 10 days before each general meeting.

Any member can also ask for official minutes: secretary@alcottptsa.org

Meeting summaries

Short summaries of what we discussed and decided. We post a summary after the board or the members approve that meeting's minutes.

  • The Fall General Membership Meeting was set for Thursday, October 15, at Alcott. Approved unanimously. Update: The meeting moved to Tuesday, October 20. The school office let us know that many families travel over the October 16–18 long weekend, and we want as many members as possible to be able to come.

What we discussed

  • The 2025–26 financial review and Form 990 are due November 15. The board will form a financial review committee and appoint a statement reviewer.
  • The fundraising goal is $60,000. Benevity and employer matching programs are set up.
  • Some members have donated money to cover memberships for people facing financial barriers. The board will write a policy for using these funds.
  • The board agreed on ways to communicate better: respect quiet hours, use group chat less for decisions, and record bigger decisions in PTSA email.
  • Planning for the Back to School Bash on September 17.
Reports
  • Treasurer: Checking is about $33,000 and savings about $15,000, which meets the $15,000 reserve requirement.
