Membership
Become a Member
PTSA membership is open to everyone — parents, guardians, grandparents, teachers, staff, and neighbors. Joining adds your voice to our school community, and every member gets a vote at our General Membership Meetings.
Looking to donate instead?
Our Back 2 School Fall Fundraiser runs through November 11. Membership and donations are two different things – here is how they compare.

It's the official membership and payment platform used by Washington State PTA. It's where you join, get your digital membership card, and where we keep track of our members.
-
No. Anyone — parents, staff, or community members — can join with a quick checkout. An account is never required to become a member.
-
It's free and optional — but it makes supporting Alcott PTSA a lot easier. Your account keeps your digital membership card on your phone, saves your receipts, and makes renewing next year a couple of taps. It's also your one place for donations, sponsorships, event tickets, and spirit wear. And through Givebacks' Shop-to-Give program, you can even raise money for Alcott PTSA just by shopping and dining at participating places — the store covers the donation, at no cost to you. Plus you get Washington State PTA and National PTA member discounts.
-
No problem — just message us on membership@alcottprsa.org and we'll add you as a member and send your card.
-
No — they're separate. Membership dues are a small annual fee that gives you a vote and connects Alcott to Washington State PTA and National PTA. The Fall Fundraiser is what actually pays for programs. Most families do both. See the Fall Fundraiser →
Two different things
Membership isn't a donation
People mix these up constantly, and it matters — because dues aren't what funds Alcott programs. Here's the honest version.
Membership
Adds your voice
A small annual fee
One vote per member at General Membership Meetings
Connects Alcott to Washington State PTA and National PTA, and unlocks their member discounts
A share of every dues payment goes to state and national — after that, membership nets the PTSA about $3,500 a year
Fall Fundraiser
Makes it all happen
Any amount, once or monthly — tax-deductible
Funds orca folders and agendas, clubs, teacher materials, field trips, family events, and more
Goal of $60,000 against a $101,000 budget — this is where most of it comes from
Runs through November 11. Classes that reach 100% participation earn an ice cream party
A gift of membership
Cost should never be a barrier
Thanks to the generosity of Alcott families, no one has to miss out. You can give the gift of membership to someone else — or, if it would help you, request a sponsored one. Either way, a fellow Orca gets a full voice in our PTSA.
