After-school classes at Alcott for grades K–5. Pick your classes, add them to your cart, and pay once.
All classes begin right after school and run about an hour, depending on the class. Exact pick up times are shared closer to the start.

How to sign up for more than one class
- Add a classTap Register on a class. Givebacks opens in a second tab. Add the class to your cart.
- Come back for moreGo back to this tab and tap Register on the next class. It opens in the same Givebacks tab, and your cart keeps what you added.
- Check outPay after each class, or add several classes and pay for them together. Either way works.
Your cart does not save a seat. Classes can fill while you shop. Check out soon after you add your classes.
Classes only run if a grown-up is in the room Every class needs an adult chaperone on site. It is not teaching — the instructor runs the class.
Chaperones get money back. If you chaperone a class, you get 100% of that class fee back. Chaperones must be approved LWSD volunteers and sign a chaperone agreement.
Can't come every week? If a class still needs help, we'll post single-day chaperone sign-ups on the Volunteer page. Single-day chaperones don't get a refund.

The Alcott Math Club brings experienced students from Tesla STEM High School to teach elementary students core concepts in algebra, number theory, geometry, and combinatorics. Sessions focus on building problem-solving skills and preparing students for competitions like Math Kangaroo and Math is Cool.

From Sea to Shining Sea: students make sea-inspired art with many different materials. They explore seascapes, ocean life, and coastal landscapes, and learn about artists such as Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and O’Keeffe. Please send your student in clothes that can get messy.

CTB Basketball is excited to bring our Lil Baller After School Program to Louisa May Alcott Elementary. Students will have an amazing time developing their basketball fundamentals, while also learning about sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy habits.
Engaging games like “Fry the Bacon” and “Sharks and Minnows” add to the excitement, and adjustable baskets ensure that everyone can join in and enjoy the experience.

Students learn public speaking skills through interactive activities and hands-on lessons. They write their own speeches and practice using their voice, body language, and visual aids, while building confidence. No experience needed.
The instructor has held a Toastmasters International certification in Advanced Communication and Leadership for three years and is a top winner at DECA Internationals.

A fun after-school soccer program for beginner and intermediate players. Sessions focus on ball skills, agility, and small-sided games. Coaches help each student grow as a player while building confidence, teamwork, and character.

Chess class is a place for students to practice problem solving, critical thinking, and sportsmanship while having fun learning and playing a timeless game.
Kids start the class with casual chess games, then progress to a lesson tailored to the class’s collective skill level. Next, they play a formal (unrated) tournament game that allows them to practice skills under the same rules and expectations as a real tournament. Our overall goal is to help kids think through decisions logically, learn from their mistakes, and of course, have fun doing it! All experience levels are welcome.

Students try drums, guitar, piano, ukulele, and singing. They learn the parts of each instrument and the basics of playing it, and practice rhythm and melody through games. No musical experience or instrument needed.

Students explore drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting through hands-on projects, and learn color theory, composition, and painting techniques. Each class builds artistic skills, confidence, and creative expression. All materials are included.

When classes meet
Each class meets once a week for 8 weeks, on its own weekday.
All classes 4–5 PM. No classes on Wednesdays.
Classes only run if a grown-up is in the room
Every class needs a parent or caregiver on site for the hour. It is not teaching — the instructor runs the class. You are there so eleven kids get to do something great on a Tuesday afternoon.
Vendors give chaperone families a discount. The amount depends on the class and will be listed with each class when registration opens.
Chaperones must pass LWSD screening and be an approved volunteer. Start that now — it takes time.
No experience needed
Attendance, bathroom trips, and getting everyone to pickup.

No English required
You do not need to speak English to chaperone a class.
