Louisa May Alcott Elementary is run by the Lake Washington School District. Money is collected for: - Lunch money - Paper supply fee ($7) - Field Trips - Subscriptions for different programs coordinated by classroom or grade teacher This money is paid directly to the school. Checks are payable to Alcott Elementary. |
Alcott Elementary PTSA
Our PTSA is a member-based volunteer organization run by parents. Founded in 1986, it has supported our school for 33 years. Go to www.alcottptsa.org/ptsa-mission--goals.html for mission and goals. We collect money through Membership Fee, Orca Fun(d) Run, general donations, and other fundraising (etc. spirit wear, yearbook). Membership fee: Membership feea are considered tax deductible donations by IRS. Membership fee cover fees and dues to LWPTA & State & National PTA, PTSA operation expenses, bank fees, insurance expenses, and more. Any remaining funds from membership dues are allocated to PTSA programs. Orca Fun(d) Run: Major annual fundraising event at Alcott. Donations support various school enrichment programs, community building events & activities. Look under fundraising for more information. All programs are run by parent volunteers who are Alcott PTSA members. Checks, Cash or credit card payment are payable to Alcott PTSA. |
Individual Classrooms
Room parents and other parent volunteers help classroom teacher with class activities. Money is collected for: - 3 Classroom parties (Halloween, Friendship and End-of-Year) - Grade level luncheon for Alcott staff, organized by room parents - Class teacher gifts Checks and cash are payable to the room parents. |
